Hey Notion friends,
I don’t know about you, but I personally thought Notion would calm down a bit after the launch of Notion Calendar.
Well… They didn’t (actually, they never do, and that’s why I love Notion so much).
So today I’ll share with you 2 new features they released this week alongside my classic weekly surprise.
Here’s what you’ll find in today’s issue:

News: Database Button Properties
Today, I'm thrilled to dive into the latest feature that's causing quite a stir in the Notion community - the Notion Buttons in Databases.
With buttons, you can do so much more and make your work easier. Let me guide you through the setup and show you some examples of how to use buttons to improve your Notion workspace.
How to set up a database button:
Open your database
Add new property: Click '+ New property' and choose 'Button' as the type.
Name your button: Give it a descriptive name and label, like “Approve”.
Configure button actions: Click 'Add a step' to program what your button does.
What can you do with your buttons?
Well here are a few ideas of what you can build with these new database buttons, but I’m sure your imagination will come up with a lot more:
One-click project approval: If you're managing projects, use this button to quickly finish and approve documents tasks.
Escalate button: If you get a task that needs urgent attention, hit the 'Escalate' button to send it straight to your manager.
Upvote button: Great for team decisions or family polls. Click to vote on ideas or suggestions easily.
Budget button: Keep track of expenses by categorizing them with a simple click. Makes managing money much easier!
Easy time-tracking: Track time spent on tasks or projects with buttons, and define the start time and end time.
Enhancing remote work: For those managing remote teams, these buttons can simplify complex workflows, ensuring smooth operation and coordination across different time zones and locations.
Wiki organizing button: Easily tag and sort your wiki pages. Find what you need without any hassle.
Duplicate Marker Button: If you see something twice, click the button to mark it as a duplicate and keep your database tidy.
Feature: Autofill Select/Multi-Select Properties
Notion AI Automation is getting better and better!
Now, you can automatically fill in select and multi-select properties with tags. This means Notion can either pick out relevant tags from what you've already written on a page or come up with new ones for you!
Imagine you've got a bunch of recipes you love. With this new feature, you can easily tag them with things like "vegetarian," "vegan," "contains nuts," or "gluten-free" without breaking a sweat.
It's all thanks to an AI-powered autofill option that sorts everything out for you. And it's not just for recipes; you can use it to neatly categorize your digital library or even your movie collection by genre.
Template: Address Book (Free)
As someone who enjoys keeping a record of the places I want to remember or intend to visit, I'd like to share with you this Notion Address Book Template that I've created.
It's become my go-to for keeping track of all those wonderful places I stumble upon, whether it's a quaint little café I can't wait to visit again or that breathtaking monument I saw on my last trip.
What I love about this template is that it's more than just a place to list addresses. It's your personal travel diary, where you can organize all the amazing spots you've discovered and dream about the ones you’re yet to explore.
Key features:
All-in-One Place Catalog
Automatic Google Maps Integration
Easy Entry Management
Personalized Wishlists and Favorites
It's become a part of my adventure, helping me remember not just the places, but the experiences that came with them. I hope you’ll enjoy it as well!
That's all for today!
I'm curious to hear what you think about the new database Buttons and the Free Notion Address Book I've just rolled out. So, please don't hesitate to reply to this email or leave a comment.
See you next week!
