A spotlight on Engine, a tool that transforms your Notion pages into a dynamic knowledge base.
Let's get to it!
3 Cool Notion Updates
Recently, Notion has been spoiling us with a bunch of small yet very cool updates, and this week has been no exception.
That's why I've put together a list of the latest and most effective updates for you to incorporate into your workflow.
1. Notion Calendar Title Wrapping
Notion has made a small adjustment to the Calendar database layout, allowing for the display of two lines of wrapped item names. As a result, the Notion Calendar now looks better than ever.
The titles now wrap nicely beneath the icons, not life changing but very useful.
2. UX Polishes for Buttons Setup Flows
With database buttons now live, Notion has added a dash of sparkle to the automation setup experience. Here's what's new:
A shiny "toggle" feature for your buttons, making them even more flexible.
The ability to clone and shuffle your automation steps around.
All triggers are getting a unified look to keep things sleek and tidy.
3. Menu Bar for Notion Calendar
Ever find yourself losing focus because you need to check your calendar? Totally frustrating, right?
Well, I've got some exciting news to share! Notion introduced a little menu bar for Notion Calendar. This means you can sneak a peek at your day's plans and jump straight back into your work without missing a beat.
What I like the most is when it's time to join a meeting, you can do it directly from this spot. Pretty handy!
Free Template: Database Button Properties
If you're looking to understand how Notion database buttons work, Notion has created a cool free template that shows you the magic of database buttons.
This template is a playground for you to see all the cool things you can do with database button properties in Notion. I’m talking about adding upvotes, handling escalations, and managing approvals, all with the click of a button.
It will help you explore the different ways you can use these buttons in your own work. Once you've had a chance to play around and see what's possible, you can easily take what you like and integrate it into your own docs and project plans.
What's Inside:
Upvoting: Imagine a database where your team can vote on things like what to talk about at the next meeting or which new feature to add next.
Escalation: Got a task or issue that needs a manager's touch to get sorted? Just hit the
Escalate
button and send it up the chain with one easy click.Approval: For all project managers out there, complete all the steps to approve a project with just a tap on the “approve” button.
Engine.so - Knowledge Base using Notion
Think about transforming your current Notion pages into a cool, updated knowledge base for your customers. Pretty cool, right? You can actually do that now with the Engine, and it's a huge deal for offering awesome support and info.
Here's what you can do with the Engine:
Product Docs: Make guides, tutorials, and documents to help your users stay informed.
Help Center: Set up a place where users can find their own answers, saving everyone time.
User Guides: Switch from old PDFs to updated, online guides.
Customer FAQs: Have a FAQ page your team can update whenever, so everyone's informed.
Knowledge Base: Improve your product support with a place where users can help themselves.
Design Docs & API Documentation: Keep your design and API information up-to-date and easy to find.
That's it for today!
