News: Meet Notion Calendar, new Notion tool
Guess what? Our predictions were right - the Notion Calendar we've been talking about last week is finally live!
This latest Notion feature release is HUGE for all the Notion community.
Let’s dive into it:
Firstly, it's essential to know that Notion Calendar is a separate application, but it can be seamlessly integrated with your current Notion setup. This means you can view your Notion tasks and notes right within the Notion Calendar.
It integrates with Google Calendar, allowing users to link multiple calendars and view all events together. This makes it convenient to block out time for personal events on a work calendar without sharing specific details with coworkers.
Key Features of Notion Calendar:
Free and Independent: The app is free to use and doesn’t require an existing Notion account.
Platform Availability: It’s currently available for Mac, Windows, and Web, with an iOS version also released. An Android version is in development.
Integration with Google Calendar: For now, it only integrates with Google Calendar, but compatibility with Outlook and Apple Calendar is forthcoming.
Unique Capabilities:
Display Notion Items: While it doesn’t offer 2-way sync with Google Calendar, it uniquely displays Notion items alongside your calendar events.
Easy Connectivity: You can easily link any Notion Database with a single click.
Unified View: It offers a combined view of your events and Notion items, making it feel like a 2-way sync.
Want to give it a go?
Tip: Zero-based indexing
What a nice touch! Notion has recently introduced a new feature that's both simple and convenient.
It's great news for anyone who zero-indexes! With this update, you can now begin with "0" to start a list that way.
Small and quite impactful tweak!
Free template: Personal CRM Template
Having a personal CRM might be one of your best early 2024 decision.
Over time, I've learned that maintaining your personal network can greatly impact your life. Stay in touch with old friends, coworkers, and acquaintances, as they may help you now or in the future.
So here's the Notion template I use to build my personal CRM.
You can neatly organize everyone into groups and even 'favorite' the people you connect with the most. Moreover, fill out the Birthday property for each contact, and voilà – you'll see their age and get a nifty birthday reminder in the Bday Tracker tab.
Decide how often you want to catch up with each person and set a reminder that gently nudge you to reconnect. Think of it as having a personal assistant reminding you, “Hey, it’s time to catch up with Sam.”
AND… What's really cool is you can use this template with Notion's new feature, Notion Calendar, to show upcoming birthdays or contact dates for your connections right in your calendar.
Main features:
All your contacts in one place
Birthday and interaction trackers
Easily customizable to fit your style
Enjoy it, it's free!
That's it for today!
Big thanks for reading all the way through 🙏.
I really want to know what you think of the new Notion Calendar and/or the Personal CRM I just released. So please reply to this email or leave a comment.
See you next week!
