Big release + small updates that make a big difference... just for you 🔥
Hey Notion friends,
Last week was a big one for the Notion community! Notion made a major move by officially launching Notion Mail for everyone.
They also rolled out a few smaller updates that might have gone under the radar... but these little improvements can make a difference in how you work inside Notion.
In this week's edition, you'll find:
A closer look at the brand-new Notion Mail
Smarter scheduling Notion Calendar update
A simple, but super handy change to page locking
Let’s dive in!
Quick News Before We Dive In…
I just launched my brand-new personal newsletter!
Why, you may ask? Well, for a good reason! (I explain everything in this post)
It’s the place where I’ll share my best AI tools, prompts, workflows, automation, productivity systems, and so much more (going way beyond Notion).
If you enjoy learning smarter ways to work, create, and run your life and business, you’re going to love it.
It’s 100% free to join. You can sign up here 👇
Alright, now let’s jump into today’s Notion updates! 👇
Notion Mail is Live for Everyone
First up, the headline news: Notion Mail is now available to everyone!
This brand-new email client looks and feels just like Notion, bringing a minimalist interface, familiar shortcuts, and powerful database organization to your inbox.
Here’s what you should know:
✅ What’s great:
Minimalist, intuitive interface (perfect for Notion users)
Organize emails like database entries for next-level control
Familiar keyboard shortcuts like
⌘K
and/
commandsEnhanced privacy and encryption thanks to Skiff
Built-in templates and email previews on hover
🛑 What’s missing:
Only works with Gmail (Outlook support is coming)
No mobile app yet (coming later in 2025)
No multi-account management yet
No deep folder organization (no nested folders)
More of a companion to Gmail than a full replacement (for now)
Important:
The basic Notion Mail experience is free and included with your Notion account.
But if you want the AI features (like auto-sorting your inbox or drafting replies) you’ll need to subscribe to the Notion AI add-on (sold separately).
In short:
If you love Notion’s way of organizing information, you’ll feel right at home with Notion Mail — and it’s only going to get better from here!
Scheduling Directly in Notion Calendar
Another sweet update quietly arrived inside Notion Calendar too! You can now create and manage scheduling links directly inside the app.
Previously, you could create scheduling snippets quickly by hitting "S" on your keyboard — but now, managing and updating all your links in one place makes scheduling even smoother.
If your needs are simple, this could easily replace external tools like Calendly for handling your meetings.
It’s a small but powerful update that makes Notion Calendar even more capable, and it’s exciting to see how fast it’s evolving.
Temporary Unlocks for Locked Pages
Ever locked a page to prevent accidental edits, only to get frustrated when you needed a quick change? Same here. 😅
Now, Notion introduced a temporary unlock option!
You can unlock a page for a session, make your edits, and it’ll automatically lock itself again when you refresh or navigate away.
Simple? Yes.
But these tiny UX improvements are exactly what make Notion more enjoyable (and safer) to work with every day.
That’s it for today!
Thanks for sticking with me until the end 🙏 Feel free to reply or comment if you want to share your opinion or chat about today’s updates — I always love hearing from you.
See you next time,
Quentin
